Original era issue. US WWI berthing card for a soldier who sailed on the 8th of June 1918 to France, aboard the Cunard ship SS Toloa. Penciled notations on the obverse, with a name that appears to be W.A. Pierce. ***doing a quick look on Ancestry, I found a listing using Pierce & Toloa search words, and discovered Walter A. Pierce, Company C, 309th MG Bn, who sailed for France aboard the Toloa on the 27th of May 1918, the June 8 1918 date is likely the arrival date in France. The 309th served with the 78th Division during the war.
