Original period manufacture. This is a really great thing and appears to be complete. 1919 patent date on the Candlestick telephone which is made by US Bell Telephone Company. The oak box is marked USWestern Electric, Army Signal Corps Desk Phone, LB Desk Set Special 1917, with a wiring diagram inside the box. There is a removable handcrank which screws in on the right side of the box. Very clean, very sound piece of early US Army Signal Corps equipment. I would'nt be surprised if this could be made to operate.
