US WWI USMC 5th Machine Gun Battalion Service Coat

Original era manufacture. A very clean example, four pocket service coat in forest green wool, original USMC pattern collar discs, right and left, two piece 5th Marine Machine Gun Bn SSI, hand sewn on the left shoulder. On the cuff below are two overseas stripes.The coat exhibits nearly all of its original USMC pattern buttons (missing right upper pocket button), is free of any major moth damage (one or two pencil point bites), and is about a size 38 regular. Faint issue markings on the green cotton lining, original USMC enlisted collar discs on the collar, right & left.  There is wear to the lining at the base of the collar, and the side stitching of the lower right side pocket has given way.
