Original era documents. Five period documents pertaining to the service of Pfc. Angelen Villegas of Pasa Robles California, Private Villegas served as a US Marine from May 1918, to December 1919, serving at Guantanamo from April-June 1919. He evidently contracted Tuberculosis during his service, as his last duty station was Fort Lyon Colorado, a US Navy Sanatorium. The documents include USMC Service Certificate signed by the Commandant of the Marines, Major-General George Barnett, his USMC Discharge Certificate, and several pieces of correspondence between Villegas' parents and the Marine Corps regarding compensation for the death of their son.
