Original era manufacture. USMC issue enlisted hat, dark blue wool body with red wool piping. The brown leather sweatband is securely stitched to the body of the hat; black cloth lining with the owners name J.G. Foultz stenciled in white paint in two places.Correct era darkened bronze EGA, black leather adjustable chinstrap with two USMC side buttons. Comes with a WWI pattern aluminum ID disc which is also named to Foultz, and US NAVY MAIL CLERK, with USMC below.Ancestry research shows 36 listings for Joseph G. Foultz from 1919-1923, with several of the musters showing him stationed in the Dominican Republic in 1920.No moth issues to report, the hat is sound, not crushed or broken.
