Original period manufacture. Cotton embroidered, cut-edge patch. Normal age and wear, with the tab attached to the top of the patch. The 101st Airborne Division, needs no introduction here, gaining fame along with its sister 82nd "All American" Division, during the Normandy operation on the morning of June 6th 1944. It's defense of the Belgian town of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge is well known. Their commander's cryptic reply to the German demand for the surrender of the 101st was epic, "NUTS".The Division served in four campaigns in Europe in 214 days of combat, suffering the loss of 9,328 casualties.It does not fluoresce under a UV light.
