Original period manufacture. Cotton embroidered, cut-edge patch which does not fluoresce under a UV light. Normal age and wear.This example has been removed from a uniform, with loose threads around the edges.The 101st Airborne Division, needs no introduction here, gaining fame along with its sister 82nd "All American" Division, during the Normandy operation on the morning of June 6th 1944. It'sdefense of the Belgian town of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge iswell known. Their commander'scryptic reply to the German demand for thesurrender of the 101stwas epic, "NUTS". The Division served in four campaigns in Europe in 214 days of combat, suffering the loss of 9,328 casualties.
