Original era manufacture. Full length brass shell casing dated 1941 on its base. Very nicely inscribed into the side of the case is Dutch Harbor Alaska, June 3-4 1942, the dates of the Imperial Japanese Navy attack on that installation. The attack on Dutch Harbor was a diversionary effort by the Japanese from their main attack on Midway Island. After this attack they successfully landed troops on the islands of Kiska and Attu. The two day attack by the Japanese were defended by US Army & Marines including men of the 206th CA (AA) of the Arkansas National Guard who were armed with 37mm weapons. Nice historical relic.
