Original era manufacture. Pair of DUI as worn by members of the 62nd Coastal Artillery, manufactured by Hilborn-Hamburger and so marked on the reverse. The regiment saw service in WWI, reconstituted in 1921 as a battalion and stationed at Fort Totten New York. Expanded to a regiment in 1922. Sailed for overseas service in August 1942. Operation Torch and the Invasion of Sicily in 1943. The 62nd was reduced to a battalion, and sent to Italy in July 1944. It later participated in the invasion of Southern France. It's unit descendants still serve today. The unit insignia was authorized in 1929.
