Original era manufacture. A very interesting set. We have had many of these little private purchase Soldiers Records over the years, but very few of them ever were filled out. This soldier did however and was very complete in his entries. He served with HQ Company, 1st Bn, 395th Regt. 99th Division. During the crossing of the Atlantic he writes of his troopship Explorer sinking a U-Boot on Oct 6 1944. Later, during the Battle of the Bulge he writes of being underfire for 14 hours near Elesborn (Elsenborn?)Belgium on the 18th of December 1944, with Germans throwing in 88's. In early May of 1945 he writes of his unit releasing Allied POW's after crossing the Danbue (Danube)River. Great little set with lots of research potential. Private Lesher survived the war and came home to his family and friends.
