Original era manufacture. Slot brooch suspension with original ribbon. Established in June of 1941 by FDR to honor those who served in the military from September 8 1939 until December 7 1941. The BASE clasp was awarded to USN & USMC personnel who served outside the continental United States, to include Alaska and Hawaii Territories.
