Original era manufacture. US WWII Army Nurse Corps uniform set. This set consists of a jacket and skirt. Nurse insignia with the black enameled A is on the jacket as well as cut out US collar insignia and Sterling Captain bars (in the pocket). The A may be for Auxiliary or Admin.Her name was Emma Scheib. She married Col. Thomas McCracken. Emma Scheib McCracken served as a Captain in the Army Nurse Corps from December 1941 to 1946 and served with distinction in the Pacific and European Theaters. She was a Red Cross instruction and a Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies' Auxiliary. Shoulder sleeve insignia is for Advanced Sector. She passed away at age 90 in 2004.The jacket has a label inside the pocket with her name and also a name tag sewn in the collar. Dated 1943.
