The Army issued a field hospital uniform for wear by nurses overseas. This is a one-piece, wrap around dress made of brown and white striped seersucker material. It did not have to be ironed. The dress ties at the left waist and has one pocket right on the skirt with two false pockets on the bodice. An inside tie is present to prevent it from blowing open in the wind.Women working as nurses in the US hospitals were also permitted to wear this dress.
