Original era manufacture. Often attributed to Airborne use, Corps of Engineers marked on the reverse of the casing. Made by Superior Magneto of Long Island NY, a prolific maker of compasses for the US military during WWII. Sound brown leather wrist strap with a darkened brass buckle. Still points North, clear bezel. Dated 5-44 on the side.
