Original era manufacture. A quality hat made by Berkshire, deluxe model, with an olive brown wool felt top, and olive green quilted cap band. Brown leather visor and adjustable chinstrap, which is secured with two brass eagle buttons.Complete, clear plastic covered yellow lining with the makers logo sweat diamond in the center. Perforated leather sweatband in the front, with the stitching opening up in the front section, and a silk bow at the back.On the underside of the leather visor the officer scratched his name, which I can't quite make out. However the letter S of his last name, followed by the last four digits of his service number are quite readable. No moth damage to the wool, the hat is not crushed or broken and the large brass eagle emblem has a great looking patina to it.
