Original period manufacture. Cotton embroidery on blue cotton twill material. Looks to have been removed from a uniform, normal age and wear.  The 5th Air Force was formed in 1942, and served in the Pacific for the entire war. They were credited with the destruction of 6,298 enemy aircraft, with a loss of       2,494 of their own to enemy fire.
