American Womans Volunteer Services uniform which consists of hat, coat and skirt. The hat is very difficult to find. This one is 7 1/8. 32 inch waist on the skirt with room to add another inch if needed. It is 29 inches long with 4 side buttons and pleat in the front. The jacket is 18 inches armpit to armpit and 26 1/2 inches long. A nice larger sized uniform in very nice condition.Nice Sergeant rank insignia and AMVS insignia on the arms. We are not sure what the wings represent. They are very unusual. On page 152 of Dressed For Duty Volume One there is another uniform that is shown with wings. It is now in the State Museum of Pennsylvania. The wings are in place of the Motor Transport Patch.
