Original era manufacture. Stamped brass V for Victory badge with a pinback reverse, measures 28 x 30 mm. At the base of the V are three dots and a dash, the Morse Code signature for the letter V. The letter V was used in many forms during WWII, the spreading of the index and middle finger was another example. Coincidentally the opening phrase of Beethoven's 5th Symphony features four notes which replicate the letter V Morse Code signature, this became a powerful musical tool for the Allies during the war.
