Original era manufacture. Attractive bronze medal with its original ribbon and slot brooch suspension bar. Named with its original issue case ribbon bar and lapel button, 1st LT. William Smith 366th Fighter Group. We've tried to do some research on this pilot, but not successful this far. 1st Lt. William E. Smith O-8087539th AAF, 366th Fighter Group, 389th Fighter Bomber SquadronM.A.C.R. # 5973Plane: P-47D-20-RE (P-47 Thunderbolt) Serial # 42-76465 He was shot down June 16, 1944 very close to Caen, France.
