Original era issue. 4 dog tags with neck chain, each pair named to the same man who served in the Army during WWII, and then postwar, in the US Navy. The Army NOK tags were issued to Elmer E (Ernest) Tasker, service number 15320161, with his next of kin living in Vindex Maryland. During WWII, Sergeant Tasker served in the 377th Infantry Regiment, 95th Division in France and Germany, earning two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. The PH was awarded for wounds received in action in December 1944, being artillery shell fragments in his thigh and face. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1950, service number 3843885, and died in 1959. His headstone marker application states the above information, US WWII Hospital Admission Card Files, provides details of his wounding, and on the Find A Grave sight shows a photo of his grave marker stating his awards.
