Original period manufacture. Standard issue Lensatic Compass by Superior Magneto Long Island City NY, anodized finish to the casing which is dated 10-49, and marked U.S. Army.The dial moves freely and points North as it should. Dark OD waterproof canvas case with an M1910 belt hook  on the reverse.
