Original era manufacture. Liquid filled metal bodied compass which resides in a wooden box with a removable top. With the top fitted, the box measures 6x6x4.25 inches. The compass ring is serial numbered 53049, and made by STAR, Boston U.S.A. It points North just fine and pivots easily in it's wooden box. The box shows staining on it's exterior but overall is quite sound.
