Original era manufacture. The polished steel blade measures 8.5 inches in length, and finished to decent degree of talent. There is an upper edge at the point, with a 22-tooth sawback spine. There are faint markings on the blade, which read (temper)ed STEEL, blade thickness measures just shy of 2 mm. Simple oval brass guard with lead fill on each side of the base of the blade. Carved one-piece wooden grip secured with two copper rivets.Stout leather handmade sheath of sewn construction, with hand applied decoration as shown. On the reverse is a stenciled name, V.V.SMITH, perhaps used, or made by a Marine. The pommel strap is intact but a portion of the snap assembly is missing, yet it still snaps closed.
