Original era manufacture. A fine quality example of the US Army General Officers Dress hat, by the famous firm of Luxenberg of New York. The size is about a 7 1/4, with a full makers label on the interior. Doeskin midnight blue wool top, with a black velvet band which has gold wire oakleaves directly embroidered into it's surface. Black wool covered visor, again with gold wire decoration. The visor is bound with black leather, the maker marked leather sweatband is securely sewn to the body, overall the hat is very nice. I would place this in the WWII-Korean War era, pity that it is not named.
