Original era manufacture. An interesting composite grouping from an often overlooked aspect of the American War Effort during WWII. Without the homefront, the soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines would have been without all of the necessary tools to complete the job at hand. In recognition of the homefront effort, The Army & Navy E program for excellence was created. The grouping includes an original E badge with card and envelope; awarded by the Hewitt Rubber Company of Buffalo New York, one of the items they produced were self-sealing gas tanks for aircraft. The other is an original 1943 dated, program for the awarding of the Army-Navy Production badge; this time to the employees of the Edward Weck & Company of Brooklyn NY, makers of fine quality surgical instruments.
