Original era manufacture. US WWII, US Coast Guard Women's Reserve " SPARS" Jacket and Overseas hat set. The acronym was taken from Semper Paratus (always ready).Both pieces have the Coast Guard labels inside. The hat is a size 22 1/2 and both are in very good condition with not staining, holes or missing buttons. Some stitching on the inside has separated and would need to be resewn. The jacket is a size 4 in todays sizing.The jacket has a cloth shield on the lower sleeve and both metal collar insignia. The ribbon bar on the jacket is a WWII US Defense ribbon that would have been issued prior to 12/7/41. The overseas hat also has the metal insignia.The skirt is the same as a WAVE skirt. We have added a skirt to this jacket to complete the uniform.There were only 13,000 women who served as Spars during WWII.
