Original era manufacture. Clearly a handmade example, using a modified file to make the blade. The blade measures 8 inches in length, with clear evidence of its former life as a file visible. Thick, D-shaped guard with four steel protrusions. Simple slab-type grips secured with six brass rivets, on one side of the grip are a series of hand stamped numbers, perhaps a service number.Simple leather sheath of sewn construction with a pommel strap, one side of which is missing. These are original WWII collector items, made by, or for soldiers fighting in the Pacific and European Theaters during the war; sold as collector items only. The possession of these knives in some states/countries is prohibited. You must know the laws in your locality, state or country prior to ordering.
