Original era manufacture. US WWII cast hatchet head with a wood handle. Mix of original paint and patina finish on the blade, maker marked American Fork & Hoe 1945. Original OD paint to the handle with a clear US stamp and 1942 date. No nicks in the blade edge, but does have a large chip on the top edge of the bladeDark OD canvas belt carrier has a clear Canvas Prod. of K.C. makers stencil, with a manufacturing date of 1945. Corrosion staining to the metal fittings.
