Original era manufacture. US steel hatchet head with a wood handle. Steel patina finish to the axe head, clear American Fork and Hoe Co. 1945 markings on the head; nonicks in the blade edge. The handle appears to be a GI replacement retaining most of it's original OD paint finish. Dark OD canvas belt pouch, with a fairly distinct U.S. stenciled on the front. The pouch shows wear and use with scattered staining and small holes.
