Original era manufacture. This is a very interesting example of a German bayonet, modified into a fighting knife. However, another possibility is it may have been done by a Finnish soldier, just a guess on my part, but the set is certainly different.WKC marked blade measuring 7.5 inches in length, which is set into a very well made cast aluminum (aircraft?) grip, ribbed on each side, with a small panel on one side displaying the number 756475 (service number?).The scabbard is also made of aluminum, and is covered in an intricately woven netting, with a tassled end, and stitched to the throat is an aluminum DAF emblem. The same woven fabric is used for the belt loop and pommel strap, with a crowned eagle securing button. The blade shows considerable use, with cleaned and scoured finish with light pitting on its surfaces. The scabbard weaving is very nice and artistically done. A very well executed modification and certainly one of a kind.
