Original era manufacture. Standard pre-war production K97 bayonet, maker marked S/172 (Eickhorn) and dated 36 on the spine. All of the finish has been removed from the blade, guard, backstrap and pommel, with a varnish applied to the grips. The initials HK have been carved into the reverse grip plate.Handmade sheath of thick leather with the matching initials of HK carved into the surface below the throat.
