Original era manufacture. A standard 1905 pattern bayonet made at Springfield Arsenal in 1911, and GI modified for use during WWII. The blade measures 8.25 inches in length with a clipped point and a well executed thumb rest of sorts for use, nice and sharp cutting edge as well. Whoever did this modification had some talent. The grip has been rounded, locking button removed and the guard has had the muzzle ring removed and has been narrowed. Simple leather sheath with a brass infantry enlisted collar disc attached to the throat. The sheath doesn't quite fit and the pommel strap's closre button is missing.
