Original era manufacture. A very robust of a handmade knife and scabbard, presented to a US Soldier in 1944. The knife features a double edged, seven inch blade with a light dusting of surface corrosion, which should clean easily. Simple oval shaped aluminum guard, with a stacked grip made from tapered wedges of aircraft Plexiglas and a heavy brass pommel.The handmade leather scabbard is a hoot, inscribed on the obverse, "Made June 1944, By F. JOBE & GEO. BUND, W.A.A.F. HAYS KANSAS, TO MY SON" on the reverse it states, "JAP GETTER, HITLER TO".Normal age and wear, from a local estate.
