Original era manufacture. A very well made example of a Homefront produced knife during WWII. The 7.25 inch double edge blade is made from the butt of a US M1913 Patton Sabre dated 1918.Thick brass, oval shaped guard, with a nicely turned wooden grip secured with four brass rivets. The blade tang is covered with a darker shade of wood on both sides, beautifully set into the grip with a seamless feel to it.Original dark leather sheath of sewn and riveted construction, with a very wide pommel strap with a securing snap. The blade displays a lightly speckled finish, no corrosion pitting, with the point being slightly blunted.
