Original era manufacture. An interesting knife with a very homemade look to it, double edge blade measures 6 inches in length. Etched into one side is, LT. R. L. JOHNSON Dec. 1943. The blade displays scattered staining but no deep pitting. Simple wooden slab grips secured with 6 steel rivets. The scabbard fits the blade properly, of leather, riveted and sewn with an intact pommel strap. On the reverse is another persons name, George G. Dechert. Who knows what the story is there.
