Original era manufacture. This is a locally purchased set, obtained from a friend of ours in the firewood business who delivered a cord of wood to the veterans son, and purchased there. The set consists of the following; a 1945 dated Ike Jacket, size 38R, with original hand sewn 101st ABN SSI, Ruptured Duck emblem, silver Airborne jump wings, Artillery & US collar brass, Presidential Unit Citationand ribbons for the ETO, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and American Campaign.A tan issue shirt with the 17th ABN SSI on the right shoulder, clean, no issues.A pair of light OD wool trousers named to the veteran in the waistband, and a pair of darker OD wool trousers displaying the veterans service number and first letter of his last name.Several photocopies of period documents are included, first being a 1946discharge certificate and a VFW member honor roll giving some basic details of his service. Excellent opportunity for further research.
