Original period manufacture. Summer weight regulation army officer's hat with a worsted wool top, size marked 7 1/4. There is a maker's or retailer's name under the sweatshield but not too clear. The owners card is slipped into the liner pocket, Clifford Irving Hunn, Lieutenant Colonel of Cavalry, United States Army. The hat displays honest age and wear with a few scattered moth bites in the wool and some surface staining. The sweatband is not loose. Clifford Irving Hunn, O11363, 1891-1978, served in the US Army during the years 1912-1948, he was promoted to Lt. Colonel in 1942, rising from the rank of Private.
