Original era manufacture. Classic WWII Army Air Corps issue flying jacket made in size 38, with its issue tag stitched into the collar of the lining. There is a theater made 15th Air Force leather SSI on the left shoulder and a theater made leather US flag on the right shoulder. A leather name tag sewn to the left chest identifies the original owner as H.A.Kahn, with the name Lt. Herbert S Kahn and his service number handwritten onto the lining just above the waistband. There is some typical mothing to the wool wrists and waistband with some scattered fraying to the lining. Some basic research accompanies the jacket which informs us the owner flew as a Bombardier & Navigator in B-24 Liberators on 25 missions in the ETO and was awarded the DFC and Air Medal. Excellent research potential.
