Original era manufacture. A well used example of the classic avaitor's life vest from WWII. Leather panel on the front of the vest displays a faint Army Air Corps stenciled emblem in addition to the pilot's name, L.D.FRIEND. Manufacture information and 1942 date can be seen on the lower right front corner. The reverse of the vest shows several post production inspection dates, 1943-43-44-45. The rubberized interior of the vest has fragmented into nothingness and rests as a crunchy lump at the bottom inside of the vest. The fabric itself is not torn or rotten, all of the straps are present and the vest will work just fine for a display. An added plus is the possibility for further research with the name.
