US WWII Identified USN Mk2 Utility Knife, Ka-Bar Mfg

Original era manufacture. Blade marked, early production knife with a bright finished blade and USN and Ka-Bar Olean NY appearing on the ricassos. Stacked leather grip showing normal age but no damage, circular blade tang in the top of the pommel disc. Dark brown leather scabbard with U.S.N. stamped into its throat and a GI shoelace as a leg tie. The blade is clean showing only some scattered graying and spotting from age and use. Stamped into the base of the grip are the initials DMG and on the top of the pommel is stamped the name D.M.GREGG. The same name is lightly stamped into the front of the scabbard body with some additional wording below which I cannot quite make out. The scabbard is sound showing some drying along the edges and scabbard throat.
