Original period manufacture. Rough finished 18 inch blade with a very clear Collins marking on the revese ricasso, and 1945 date. Steel patina with light surface corrosion finish.Original finish wood grips secured by three steel rivets, with a chip on one side at the pommel.Dark OD canvas sheath which is also dated 1945, Made by ATLAS. The 1910 belt hook has been removed, and a GI improvised green canvas strap inserted to serve as a shoulder strap.The blade does not quite fit the blade full length, with a 12 mm gap between scabbard throat and the bottom ofthe grip.
