Original era manufacture. A high quality fighting knife produced by Knife Crafters of Chestnut Hill Pennsylvania during WWII. The polished steel blade measures 7.25 inches in length with a very sharp cutting edge. It appears to be made from a cut-down Civil War period sword.Simple steel guard, with a hollow tube grip, expertly covered in smooth brown leather. Original, and correct to the Knife Crafters pattern, leather sheath with its pommel strap intact. The lower tab is present but is nearly broken through and very weak.See page 155, Theater Made Knives of World War II by Bill & Debbie Wright for a similar example.
