Original era manufacture. Perhaps done during WWII, or postwar from left over parts. The guard, grips and pommel are from a 1905/42 or M1 Garand bayonet. The grip was never cut for a bayonet slot or lock mechanism. The polished steel blade has been shortened to a 6.25 inch length, with clear Kutmaster logo on the ricasso.Standard 3rd pattern M8 scabbard with a GI overpaint finish.
