Original era manufacture. While not very glamerous, this is a rather tough hat to find, with little official information about it in our library. The few references I could find were the 1946 QMC Historical Study, Clothing the Soldier of WWII (Page 78 shows a three position photograph) and Doughboy To GI by Lewis & Landing, page 29. This example is in a fairly large size, 7 3/4 and comes from the estate of a WWII 8th Air Force Radio Operator. Clean, light wear and use.
