Original period manufacture. Russet leather scabbard for the M1 Carbine, JQMD marked on the throat, dated 1944, with a US proof.The body of the scabbard is sound, it is not crushed, no dry rot is visible, and the leather loops on the body are sound. The only issue to report beyond normal age and wear, is that the stitching on the bottom plug has come loose on one side.
