Original era manufacture. An early awarded medal, wrap brooch suspension, which is serial numbered 623. Engraved on the planchet is the name Cleveland H. Bandholtz, who was a career army officer, and awarded the Legion of Merit in 1944. Westpoint class of 1916, he served successfully and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, commanded Raritan Arsenal during WWII and died in May 1945. Comes with a print-out detailing his life and service. He is buried at Arlington Cemetery.
