Original era manufacture. A solid example of the classic GI helmet of WWII. Fixed bale, front seamed, reflective edge helmet with original sewn light OD chinstraps with darkened brass fittings. Period small square camouflage net placed on the exterior of the helmet, with original paint finish on the interior showing a lot number which appears to be 158B. I did not remove the helmet net as it has been on the helmet for a long time and it will not go back on the same way once removed. So for honesty's sake let's presume the exterior has been repainted, an often enough occurrence even during the war. Westinghouse marked high-pressure liner with original OD paint on the exterior. Light OD canvas webbing with non-magnetic brackets, non-adjustable nape strap. Original leather liner chinstrap with a blackened magnetic adjusting buckle which is marked D.O.T. on the rivet, and magnetic triangle connectors GI's initial and last four digits of his service number stenciled on the cloth chinstrap webbing.
