Original era manufacture. Swivel bale, rear seamed M1 steel helmet with original sewn dark OD canvas chinstraps. Battleship gray paint finish to the exterior of the helmet with a stenciled "15" in red paint at front. Original OD paint finish on the interior of the helmet. WWII manufactured plastic liner made by Firestone with light OD webbing and non-adustable nape strap. The sweatband is leather and mounted to a dark OD cotton backing, no doubt a replacement during the helmets service with the US Navy. Original, unbroken, but well used, leather helmet liner chinstrap. The helmet shows honest service and use.
