Original era manufacture. Another great WWII GI steel helmet, from the same collection as #53081. This time a swivel bale helmet, named on the front to it's original owner, with a matching name stenciled onto the front of the high pressure liner. Rear seam, non-reflective edge, swivel bale helmet with original sewn dark OD chinstraps. Lot number on the underside of the helmet visor looks to be 439 (or 8) A, with an S mark below indicating Schleuter manufacture. Stenciled onto the front of the helmet (and liner) in black paint is the name KIENERT, L.H. High pressure liner made by Firestone, complete light OD webbing including a non-adjustable Nape strap. Original leather liner chinstrap with blackened metal fittings. Ancestry provides information on LaVerne Harold Kienert (b.1925) whose 2016 obituary states that he served in the US Navy during WWII.
