Original period manufacture. Front seam, non-reflective edge steel helmet with original sewn Dark OD canvas chinstraps, with black painted steel fittings.The OD helmet finish looks to be factory, with most of it remaining intact, with a few shallow dents in the crown.Westinghouse manufactured plastic liner, with light OD canvas fittings, and with an original sweatband. No nape strap. Scattered spots of white garage paint on the inside of the liner.The exterior has a pale yellow overpaint, with stenciled lettering, LT.JG indicating US Navy use.Normal age and wear overall. This helmet will weigh 4 pounds in the box.
